VALID CRITICISMS OF TRADITIONAL GOLF

Excerpts from THE GREEN by Troon McAllister

Conventional Golf Myths: Jack Kuykendall letter to Jeff Bryant, the president of the USGTF

100 Years of Golf Theory (kuykendallgolf.com) by Jack Kuykendall

Why You Won't See Jack on The Golf Channel

E-mail from Jack Kuykendall to Ed Laskody:
One of the golf publications is sponsoring a Teacher-Weekend next year. They sent out a letter asking teachers if they would be available. I answered with the below letter. Their response was that they respected my work but I was too controversial and would be disruptive to the other teachers. Due to this resistance to change, there is very little chance that you will ever see me on the Golf Channel or articles published in the main golf publications. However, the Internet is a great avenue to publish change.

Email from Jack Kuykendall to major golf publication:
I just received the letter about the Teacher's weekend. I would like to express my desire to participate. I believe my experiments and scientific evidence will help all golfers.

Concepts and Body parts that do not contribute to clubhead speed:
* Centrifugal force is a fictitious force and has no part in a golf swing.
* A golf stroke is not a FLAIL.
* The hips produce NO power in a golf swing
* The legs produce NO power in a golf swing
* Body rotation is the number one fault in golf and is the major contributor to slicing
* Straight left arm reduces clubhead speed and produces major torque in the back and shoulders

Concepts and Body parts that do contribute to clubhead speed:
* Arm speed, forearms rotation and right hand extension are the producers of clubhead speed.
* Sitting on a stool, I personally generate over 110 mph of clubhead speed and hit the ball over 250 yards air carry. This would be impressive for people at the clinic.
* How to perform the POWER MOVE from the top: All Tour players make the move - most amateurs do not.
* Easy drill to teach to amateurs.
* Bent left arm allows for maximum clubhead speed (Jorgensen's "Physics of Golf") and virtually eliminates torque on the back and shoulders.

I would be glad to do a one day presentation to your staff to scientifically prove all my claims.

Sincerely,
Jack Kuykendall Golf's Leading Scientific Teacher
